A girls’ golfing break
I’d like to organise a girls golfing holiday for four of us for a week. We are OK golfers and fancy some spa pampering too. Any suggestions? Is the Algarve still the best place for golf? Cathy, UK

Our local golf pro regularly organises trips to Tavira in the Algarve. There are five top-class courses nearby and it's a lovely town to stay in - not too over-developed like Albufeira but only a short trip from Faro. Two very good hotels are the Vila Gale Tavira and the Vila Gale Albacora. Both have a Satsanga Spa with indoor pool, gymnasium, Turkish bath and Jacuzzi. The Vila Gale Tavira is in the centre and an easy walk to the bars and restaurants of Tavira town. The Vila Gale Albacora is out where the river and sea meet, with a lovely beach. They can both get very busy in summer, so you should book well in advance. Golf tee times can be arranged directly at any of the five courses.

Lemuria Hotel has the only 18-hole championship golf course in the Seychelles - and green fees are complimentary for guests. The Lemuria is on Praslin Island, beside the white, sandy beaches of Anse Kerlan, and has a superb spa offering reflexology, shiatsu, ayurveda and aromatherapy. The sauna, Jacuzzi, steam bath and gym are all free of charge.

The Intercontinental Aphrodite Hills Resort Hotel in Paphos, Cyprus is a 5 star hotel with a 5 star spa and an 18-hole golf course. The spa offers hydrotherapy, facial and body treatments, massage, aromatherapy and more besides. The par 71/70 course overlooks the Mediterranean, with stunning views of the sea below. The resort also has a tennis academy, riding club and beach club.
