Paul Mansfield's report on Crete - Best Avoided
Posted On 02.07.07
Unless you’re a hard-core party animal, Malia and its neighbours will not appeal. Peak times at Knossos can be busy: it’s better to visit the ancient site at lunchtime or towards the end of the afternoon to avoid the crowds.

If you’re driving, steer clear of the expanding dual carriageway that now forms a chain across part of the north coast: Cretans’ driving is horrendous. The B-roads are only slightly slower.
