The coastal resorts in July and August, when average daytime temperatures reach 31-32C, and often climb much higher. Paphos tends to be a degree or two milder. You can always escape the heat by heading inland up into the mountains.
The resort of Ayia Napa, unless you are heavily into partying. The scene is quieter than a few years ago, but the resort in the far east of the island is still one of the Med’s most riotous.
