James Bedding reports on Cyprus - Need To Know
Posted On 10.04.08
On January 1, 2008, Cyprus adopted the euro as its currency. If the experience of other countries that have joined the Eurozone is anything to go by, expect some opportunistic price hikes.

You will need to carry your passport if you wish to cross over to the north of the island, even if only for a few hours.

As a member country of the EU, Cyprus is covered by reciprocal health care arrangements. Europeans should carry your EHIC for instant, free healthcare. This is not, of course, a substitute for having adequate travel insurance.
