Fred Mawer's Dubai Report - Best For
Posted On 04.04.07
An unchallenging long-haul break
The length of flight from the UK (under seven hours) is pretty bearable; transfers from the airport to hotels are short (15-45 minutes); everyone speaks English; you don’t need any jabs; you’re unlikely to get sick; and there’s very little hassle or crime.

Winter sun
Dubai offers virtually guaranteed warm or hot winter sunshine. From November to March, expect daytime temperatures in the mid to high 20s Celsius (75-85F), sunny skies, and usually just the odd burst of rain.

High-quality hotels
With their imaginative designs, great service and good multi-ethnic restaurants, Dubai has some of the world’s best upmarket resort hotels. Some are great for families, such as Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Madinat Jumeirah – both next to Wild Wadi water park.
