The official language is French, although English is widely spoken in tourist areas.
Major airlines will probably serve two or even three destinations in Morocco, so you might find that your flight is not quite as direct as you had anticipated.
The classic Marrakech hotel, La Mamounia, is presently closed for renovation. The re-opening date is supposedly early 2007, but once you’ve got the builders in... If you do get the chance, go for a cocktail there – but make sure you’re properly dressed for the occasion, which means no shorts or trainers.
